Dune: Imperium
Dune: Imperium is a game that draws inspiration from elements and characters from the legacy of Dune, both the new film from Legendary Pictures and the landmark literary series by Frank Herbert, Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson.
As one of the House Leaders of the Landsraad, raise your flag and prepare your forces and subordinates. A war is coming, and the center of the conflict is Arrakis - Dune - a desert planet.
Dune: Imperium uses cave building to add stealth information elements to traditional worker -placement .
You start with a unique leader card as well as a deck identical to your opponents' decks. As you acquire cards and build your deck, your choices will determine your strengths and weaknesses. Cards will allow you to send your agents to specific areas of the playing field, so how the kava evolves affects your strategy. You could become militarily stronger by deploying more troops than your opponents. Or you can get cards that give you an edge with the four political factions represented in the game: Emperor, Spacing Guild, Bene Gesserit, and Fremen.
Unlike many kava building games, you don't play everything in one turn. Instead, you draw a hand at the start of each round and trade with the other players in one agent turn (playing one card to send one of your agents onto the playing field). When it's your turn and you have nothing left to place, you'll make a showdown move, revealing the other cards that will provide Persuasion and Swords. Persuasion is used to get more cards, and swords help your troops fight for the goodies of the current round.
Defeat your rivals in battle, navigate the political groups wisely and get valuable cards.
