Cthulhu: Death May Die
Inspired by HP Lovecraft, Cthulhu: Death May Die puts you and your fellow players as investigators in the 1920s who, instead of trying to stop the arrival of the Elder Gods, want to summon these otherworldly beings so you can stop them permanently. You start the game already deranged, and while your long-term goal is to shoot Cthulhu in the face, so to speak, at some point in the game you may not be able to properly mitigate the dice rolls, and your insanity will cause you to do terrible things - or perhaps beneficial ones. It's hard to know for sure.
The game has several episodes and each one has a similar two act structure, they are before and after you summon whatever you have you randomly summon. If a character dies before being summoned, it's game over and you lose; as soon as one of the Elder Ones is on the field while one of you is still alive, you still have a chance to win.
All episodes are self-contained and do not depend on playing in a specific order or with the same players.
