"Coup" is a board game in which each player assumes the role of the head of a family in an Italian city-state and tries to maintain influence over the city. Each player has influence over two powerful figures in the city council, which determine what actions you can take. However, you can use all actions, but if another player demands proof that you have influence over the corresponding character and you don't - you lose one influence and are closer to defeat.
