Puzzles with the works of Ukrainian artist Bliznuchenko and Latvian photographer Plūmes are starting to be produced in Latvia
A few years ago, we could only dream that board games and puzzles would be produced in Latvia. But this dream is a reality! Recently, the "Folded Box" production facility opened its doors in Latvia, where a new product is actively produced, which will soon be available in Brain Games stores - puzzles with special added value.
New line of pooch "Purple Witty Fox"
"Since we started our company, our focus has always been on localizing and publishing board games, as well as promoting board games to a wider audience. The opening of the new production facility in Riga gives us the opportunity to start a new product line "Purple Witty Fox", which also includes puzzles," says Egils Grasmanis, chairman of the board of SIA "Brain Games Publishing".
"Purple Witty Fox" is a new product line that aims to create games and puzzles for families and groups of friends who prefer spending quality time with their loved ones instead of screens.
Our motto reads: "We do not sell or deliver air." Namely, the usual large puzzle boxes have been replaced by smaller boxes, completely filled with puzzle pieces. Thus, they are compact and take up less space on the shelves.
We are proud to involve local artists in the creation of these products, helping to further highlight their talent. The first series of "Purple Witty Fox" products are puzzles with the works of a Ukrainian artist, as well as puzzles with pictures of a Latvian photographer.
The first puzzles will be available soon!
"Veronika Blyzniuchenko™" and support for Ukraine
The first puzzles of "Purple Witty Fox" are created by the young Ukrainian artist Veronika Blizniuchenko. Buyers not only have the opportunity to enjoy the colorful masterpieces of the artist, but also to support those who need it the most - 50% of each purchase is donated to support the Ukrainians who suffered in the war .
Veronika works in an original manner, reminiscent of Art Nouveau, in which the roots of Ukrainian traditional art are also very vividly expressed. The artist's drawings depict a colorful fantasy world. She uses various techniques in her works, but prefers watercolors and oil paintings.
Veronika's hometown is Kharkiv. After the first day of the war, when the city was bombed, she took refuge in Portugal with her younger brother. The journey there was tiring and took ten days. The artist still lives in the Portuguese city of Cascais, where she is inspired by local culture and nature and actively continues her work. Highly regarded in her new home, Veronika has been invited to participate in several local exhibitions, and her paintings adorn many private collections around the world.
"Invaluable moments of inspiration where I, as an artist, reflect my inner state on the canvases. There is no recipe for pure inspiration, so in the moments when this unfamiliar feeling of epiphany comes, the main task of the artist is not to miss the opportunity and reflect these impulses in life," says Veronika.
The first batch includes nine different puzzles with the artist's works . All puzzles have 1000 pieces.
Home photographer Mārtiņš Plūme
In addition to puzzles with the works of the Ukrainian artist, "Purple Witty Fox" also offers a series of nature scenes captured by the Latvian photographer Mārtiņš Plūmes.
Plume started his career as a photographer in 2003. He is a wedding, family and nude photographer and has appeared in National Geographic, Playboy, Shape, FHM and more.
In his free time, Mārtiņš travels a lot and captures his adventures in photographs. He says that natural truth is the basis of all beauty, so his photographs depict various natural scenes in all their glory.
In the first batch, ten puzzles with Plūme's photographs have been published - six of them are of Latvian nature views , and four of them are shots of his foreign travels.
