KLASK Latvian League 2023

"Brain Games KLASK Līga" will take place in the spring of this year and in the first half of the summer, during four tournaments participants will fight for the title of Latvian KLASK champion and the opportunity to compete in the KLASK world championship in September.

COMPREHENSIVE PRIZE FUND

  • 1st place €75 Brain Games gift card; participation in the world KLASK championship
  • 2nd place €50 Brain Games gift card
  • 3rd place €25 Brain Games gift card

The winner of each round will receive a €20 Brain Games gift card.

WHEN AND WHERE?

The league will be held in Riga in four stages.

Round calendar:

  • 22.03. in the "loft" bar
  • 13.04. in the "loft" bar
  • 11.05. in the "loft" bar
  • 07.06. in the "loft" bar

The winner of each stage will receive 25 points, the second place winner will receive 18 points, and the third to tenth place winners will receive 15 points respectively; 12; 10; 8; 6; 4; 2; and 1 point.

The results of the three best stages of each participant will be taken into account in the overall ranking!

PROGRESS OF THE FOURTH STAGE

Wednesday, June 7:

Arrival from 17:30, the tournament will start at 18:00. The duration of the event is planned to be approximately 1-1.5 hours. 

KLASK LEAGUE RULES

Overview

Each round consists of two parts: the main tournament and the playoffs. The main tournament is played according to the Swiss draw principle.

  • The main tournament lasts 6 rounds.
  • If an odd number of participants start in the championship, then one "reserve player" from the organizers will also participate in the selection rounds
  • In the first round, players are randomly assigned to two tables.
  • In the remaining rounds, players are ranked by rank, playing with the player in the most similar position to themselves.
  • After the main tournament, the top four ranked players continue to play in the semi-finals (1st vs. 4th and 2nd vs. 3rd)
  • The winners of the semifinals play in the final.
  • The winner of the final will become the stage winner.
  • The losers of the semi-final games play a game for 3rd place.
  • 5th to 10th place winners are determined by the position obtained in the selection round.

Game rules

  • The tournament is played after KLASK! tournament rules . (readable in English) (subject to change according to the latest official edition)
  • The game has a time limit of 15 minutes.
    • The time limit is adequate to play KLASK! the game. Deliberate time delay can be punished by awarding points to the opponent or even a technical loss.
  • If one of the players scores six points before the time limit expires, he becomes the premature winner of the game.
  • If the game reaches the time limit, the player with more points wins.
  • If the score is tied after the end of the game time, then the game ends in a tie.
    • Semi-finals and play-offs cannot end in a draw. If the score is still tied at the end of time, play continues until a player scores the winning goal.
