Glen More II: Chronicles
In Glen More II: Chronicles, each player represents the leader of a Scottish clan from the early Middle Ages to the 19th century, seeking to expand their territory and wealth. Your clan's success depends on your ability to make the right decision at the right time, whether it's creating new pastures for livestock, growing barley for whiskey production, selling your goods in various markets, or gaining control of special monuments such as lakes and castles.
The game lasts for four rounds, which are made up of four stacks. After each round, there is a scoring phase where players compare their whiskey barrel, the number of people in their castle, the number of plots and other objects. After four rounds, additional victory points are awarded for gold coins and some monuments, while penalty points are awarded based on territory size, comparing each player's territory to the smallest territory in the game.
The core mechanics of Glen More II: Chronicles and Glen More work the same: The last player in line takes a tile from the time track, advancing as far as they want on that track. After he pays the cost, he places that tile on his territory, and that tile activates itself and all adjacent tiles, causing a resource, movement point, etc. production. Then the last player in line takes his turn.
Improvements over the original Glen More include larger game pieces, better materials, new artwork, the ability for each player to control the endgame, as well as rebalancing the terrain squares for a better tension score. The game is designed to be one-third known systems, one-third new mechanics, and one-third Glen More improvements.
