Living Forest Latvian Championship 2023

On November 25 of this year, the "Living Forest" Latvian championship organized by Brain Games will take place in the "lofts" bar, Riga, Matīsa street 8, where the participants will have the opportunity not only to have fun, but also to fight for cool prizes. Come and prove yourself!

Application form

The participation fee is 7 € , if paid in advance in the online store , or 10 €, if paid in cash on the day of the event (pre-registration is mandatory in any case!).

Applications are open until November 20!

The number of places in the championship is limited, so don't postpone registration until the last moment! 12 to 32 participants will be able to participate in the championship.

ORDER OF GAMES AND EVALUATION OF PARTICIPANTS

Announcing games

Before each round, a list prepared by the computer is made public, in which the participants of the championship are arranged by tables. From this list, participants can find out the table number at which they will be playing the next game and go find the appropriate table.

All participants play four rounds.

First round

The players are arranged at the tables in a random order determined by the computer. 2-3 players play at each table.

Players sit down and move according to the order shown in the table.

Second, third and fourth rounds

Players at the table are ranked based on the results of previous games. Players make moves according to rank order.

ATTENTION!

Due to the very tight schedule of the championship, the time for each round is strictly limited to 1 hour. After 40 minutes have been played, a 1-minute turn time limit is introduced into the game. If the game lasts for 1 hour, the table is given another 5 minutes to finish the game. Once 1 hour and 5 minutes have been played, the game stops, allowing the current turn to be completed. Such a situation is not favorable to any participant, as overall rating and ranking points are lost.

Important!

It should be remembered that all rounds of the main tournament are of equal importance.

In case of a tie, the player who made the first move later becomes the winner.

The player with the highest rank will become the champion.

Player rank

Player rank is determined by 4 criteria (in order of importance):

• number of wins;
• the highest number of points in any of the three criteria (maximum 12 in the rating)
• the number of points obtained in all three victory criteria;
• proportionally the number of points obtained at the table in all three winning criteria.

WHAT TO NOTE

• Don't drag on! Respect the time of other players too!
• When you finish the game, record the results in the questionnaire and announce the end of the game. The winner takes the game questionnaire to the organizer's table. Players arrange the components of the game so that it is convenient to start playing a new round.
• Players are responsible for following the rules. If the player made a mistake that was not immediately caught, and the players have already performed other actions, then this situation is no longer relevant and the game continues. However, players must be honest and follow all the rules! In case of repeated mistakes, the player may be punished with disqualification.
• Physically impressing opponents before, after or during the game is, of course, completely unacceptable and will mean disqualification of the participant!
• If you have come to sympathize or are a participant of the championship who has already finished his game, then it is forbidden to make audible comments and give advice to the players while watching the game of another table. Interference in the game from the outside (even with a seemingly harmless retort) can affect the outcome of the game and is therefore not allowed! Depending on the "degree of harm", the participant who performs such interference may receive from a warning to disqualification (decision of the head judge).
• All games are played with the Baltic version of the base game "Living Forest". Communication during the game takes place in Latvian, but all game participants at the same table can also agree on another language.
