The game "ICECOOL" created in Latvia continues to be successful
One of the world's most awarded children's games was created in Latvia - it is the game " ICECOOL" , in which penguins play catch and their task is to collect fish. The creators of this game have taken a step forward and created a digital version together with cooperation partners in Estonia.
"ICECOOL" was originally created as penguin grips. Penguins must collect fish. One penguin is an attendant who tries to catch the others.
The game, which was originally intended for all ages, thanks to the penguins and the game's action at school, has collected the most laurels precisely in the categories of children's games. The winning streak of the game started already in 2016, when it was invented.
"This was followed by more than 20 international awards and in principle " ICECOOL" is one of the most awarded children's board games in the world," said Egils Grasmanis, owner of SIA "Brain Games". "The main award we won in 2017 is the Oscar of the board game industry - the German Kinderspiel des Jahres. This is the ultimate achievement for both us as game authors and for us as game publishers. We can really be proud of that."
Thanks to the popularity of " ICECOOL" all over the world, other important brands in the world also want to cooperate with Latvian entrepreneurs.
A digital version of the penguin game was also created in cooperation with an Estonian company. The game was created for the multifunctional environment of Roblox, which is visited by 50 million users worldwide every day. This is an attempt to attract a new audience to the game. And although it might seem that everything is becoming only digital at the moment, the fact that board games made of cardboard and other materials are still popular is confirmed by the company's decision to create here in Mārupe the largest board game factory in the Baltics, which has customers all over Europe.
"Demand is only growing, board games are the fastest growing segment among toys," emphasizes Egils Grasmanis, owner of "Brain Games".
The company says that board games are an invaluable way to spend time with friends and family. Another segment that the company started to develop in the recently opened board game production facility is puzzle sets, including those with images of Latvian artists.
