"ICECOOL" Latvian Championship 2023

On January 14, 2023, the ICECOOL Latvian Championship will be held in Riga, where participants will not only have fun, but also win great prizes. The championship will be held in the fashion and entertainment center "Rīga Plaza".

Application form

The participation fee is 5€. Payment is made online! Participation can also be paid for on the day of the event by purchasing a ticket before the championship at the Brain Games store on the first floor of T/C "Rīga Plaza".

Daily plan

• 12.00 – 12.30 Registration, learning ICECOOL rules and warming up
• 12.35 – 13.05 First round
• 13.10 – 13.45 Second round
• 13.50 – 14.25 Third round
• 14.30 – 15.05 Final
• 15.15 Awarding and getting to know the authors of the game

If the games are played faster, round times may be shorter!

Duration of the tournament

The main tournament consists of 3 rounds. After the main tournament, the top 4 players play a final to determine the winner of the tournament.

Round

In each round, exactly four players play each match. One round is a full ICECOOL match with each player playing the catcher role once. ICECOOL's standard rules apply with the following changes:

• each fish is worth one point;
• each student certificate is worth one point;
• there is no way to get extra moves because no cards are used.

Distribution of tables

In the first round, participants are randomly assigned. Starting with the second round, participants are divided by rank - the top four at the first table, etc.

Rank

The ranking is done as follows - the player's wins are counted first, then the victory points, and then the victory point ratio. If the game ends in a draw, then the winning players split one win between themselves (for example, if two players have the highest score, they both get 0.5 wins).

Victory in the tournament

The winner of the tournament is the player who wins the final round. The final game is not included in the ranking - its winner immediately becomes the winner of the tournament. If there is a tie in the final, then the player who was ranked higher before the final takes the higher place.

Special provisions

A player is prohibited from touching his penguin except to make his turn. Any contact is considered a hit. The only exception, of course, is when the penguin moves to the red line, after which a shot is allowed.

When making a move, a player must first touch his penguin with his hand, not hit another player's penguin.

If the penguin jumps out of the field while doing something else along the way (picking up a fish, touching the catcher or the catch), then all those things count and the penguin is put back in its starting position (as after jumping out).

The use of alcohol and other intoxicating substances, as well as aggressive behavior during the championship is not allowed and threatens with disqualification! It is forbidden to disturb or help other participants! We are for clean sport!
